Hi !

I'll be in LHR on 30 of August and wanted to know if someone might be able to meet me there so that he can show me the best spotting points ...

I'll be staying at the "Ibis Heathrow" Hotel, near the 27L area (according to what I've been told)

Hi

Have a look at these two as they show where the best Spots are.

2 Spots not listed are the Field at the end of 09 left that can be reached by taking a Bus Number 81 towards Slough and getting off in the Village of Long-ford, Once of the Bus just walk up to the main road Junction and you will see the Approach lights for 09 Left walk under these lights and the field is on your right hand side if 09 left is active and its a nice sunny day this field will have a lot of Photo-gs in it.

The Second is the Esso garage on the South side of Heathrow which rite next to the Taxi way leading towards 09 Right from Terminal 4 and Cargo, The Esso station is directly opposite Terminal 5 so good views of this Terminal can be had from there as well as all 09 Right operations.

I'm off shift that day so I may take a ride up to LHR depending on the weather. I will have wheels although I am not as aux fait with the spotting locations as the rest of the usual mob.

I'd be quite happy to offer you a lift if you need one.

To be honest if the weather's due to be crap I won't bother as the drive is just too long but I'll follow the forecasts right up to the night before.

Try and get a room near the top floors & with a low number (around 501-510 or 601-610 or thereabouts), as they'll be the ones with the best view of arrivals on 27R.

I personally found it quite nice to sit in my room in the morning, with a cup of tea, bbc running in the background and arrivals streaming in on 27R Big grin

Was there last week. Just stopped by en-route to Legoland. South of LHR, can't remember name of Tube station car park just off the South Perimeter Road, but £6 for all day, more or less on threshold of 27L. got some corking photos of final approaches, there is field on the other side of the dual carriageway were most of the spotters seem to congregate.
